Over the past few weeks, we’ve been able to try Rwandan coffee offerings from a number of roasters around the country and they’re positively delightful. The more we try, the more we love – so why not gather beans roasted across the continent together for a night of celebration?
We’ve been able to get our hands on some really exciting Rwandan coffees from top roasters, and we want to invite our friends in the Pacific Northwest to get together with us in Portland this Friday, March 16th, for an informal evening of cupping and conversation – we’re calling it “Rwandalust”. Our little soiree begins at 6pm, and will graciously be hosted by the Stumptown Annex (3352 SE Belmont St). We’ve got some really special stuff lined up, but this is the first time we’ve ever done something like this – we’re no experts, but we will be offering coffees and information from those who are. Consider this a pilot project, with an aim towards hosting informal get-togethers like this in other cities soon.
This ain’t a competition – it’s a celebration. In the coming week we’ll be chatting with experts, and we’ll have information available for each coffee for your own joyful education. Afterwards we’ll head next door to the Aalto Lounge, so feel free to join us there as well. Rwandalust is free and open to everyone – invite your friends, invite your family, and join us from out of town.
We put together a Facebook Event page to help spread the word here. Hope to see you this Friday!
