In pandemic life, it’s the little reminders of The Before Times that spark the moments of normalcy-as-joy. And today, as curator of coffee news and events, I get to do what I’ve done so many times before (but haven’t for over a year) and talk about an actual, real-life, in the flesh coffee pop-up! Happening this weekend, March 20th and 21st, Coffee Project NY is teaming up with Stolen Magnolia for a Plants and Pour-Over Pop-Up benefitting the National Alliance on Mental Illness.

Taking place between 11:00am and 2:00pm at all four Coffee Project NY locations—East Village, Chelsea, Brooklyn, and Long Island City (featured here on Sprudge)—the Plants and Pour-Over Pop-Up won’t just feature plants and pour-overs but will offer a curated pairing of the two. Per the press release for the event, baristas on hand will be there to “talk about the coffee itself and how it ties into its plant pairing, along with how plants can positively impact mental health.”

Pairings include a Bromeliad and women-produced Colombia Eduviges Panche, a Burro’s Tail Succulent and Mexico La Joya Lot 22C, and a ZZ Plant and naturally processed Ethiopia Jigesa. Plant pairings are available as a pour-over, retail bag, or pour-over and retail bag, with a percentage of the proceeds going to the National Alliance on Mental Illness.

The Coffee Project NY Plants and Pour-Over Pop-Up with Stolen Magnolia takes place Saturday and Sunday, March 20th and 21st between 11:00am and 2:00pm at all four Coffee Project NY locations. For more information, visit the Coffee Project NY official website.
