Coffee Life In Japan” author and ethnographic anthropologist Merry “Corky” White will be speaking, signing copies of her book, and holding “office hours” this Friday at a two-part series of events with Blue Bottle Coffee. Dr. White is a Professor of Anthropology at Boston University, an author of several books on contemporary Japanese society (plus a few cookbooks), and has written about food for publications such as Gastronomica. Her speaking at Blue Bottle is something of a perfect fit, given the Bay Area based roaster’s predilection for Japanese coffee accoutrements. Here’s the deets, in a charming graphic put together by the Blue Bottle team:

“Coffee Life in Japan” has been met with unanimous praise by coffee writers and enthusiasts, and we noticed copies of the books being offered at several fine cafes in Boston during SCAA week. Tickets to the afternoon portion of this event are available via Brown Paper Tickets.
