HunkShot™: A Right Stud On The Left Bank

Sprudge.com needs a moment to recover. Intrepid MSM gadabout Oliver Strand ran a feature today on the Parisian coffee scene in his NYT blog Ristretto. In it, Oliver confronts the common conception that coffee in Paris is among the worst in the world. Turns out some places in Gay Paree are getting it done:

Frog Fight is organized by Thomas Lehoux and David Flynn, who met when working at le Cafeotheque (52, rue de l’Hôtel-de-Ville, 011-33-1-53-01-83-84), an artisanal roaster and cafe in the Cité des Arts. Lehoux is currently training for the French Barista Championship, to be held in Lyon later this month, while Flynn works at Le Bal (6 Impasse de la Défense, 011-33-1-44-70-75-51; www.le-bal.fr), a casual, spare restaurant in the front of a converted 1920s dance hall just off the Place de Clichy. After going on a few coffee crawls in Paris, it became clear that le Bal stands apart. In fact, in my opinion, Le Bal has the best coffee in Paris.

But what really got our attention from this piece was a certain Mr. David Flynn, he of the aforementioned Le Bal, who we feel is an obvious and jawdropping candidate for the first HunkShot feature of 2011. We’d gladly pair him with a pastry and serve him in bed. Sprudge.com has just one question: David, do you prefer your coffee washed or au naturel?

**ADDENDUM TO THE INNUENDO**

From the NYT comments section, here’s an update on next week’s Frog Fright from David himself!

Due to the response we’ve received from this article we needed to move the venue (and unfortunately the date) of the next frog fight.

The Next frog fight will be Monday the 17th of January at Le Bal Cafe (6 Impasse de la Defense 75018) at 7pm.

If you would like to join us admission is free, and everyone is welcome.
Hope to see you on Monday,
David & Thomas

Yowza!

Just wait until you get hold of a picture of David and Thomas working together, I think you’d have a tagteam hunkfest breakfast.

Though, David, where’s that hairdo gone? Off up the windy moortop, maybe.
