Bean Town. The Big Dig. Mighty mighty Boston. Here we are, and here I am, stuffed full of bagels and coffee from my first Boston cafe visit, to a little place called Diesel Cafe. They’re a multi-roaster serving the “God In A Cup pick’em trifecta”: Intelligentsia, Counter Culture Coffee, and Stumptown Coffee. Jet-lagged and caffeinated and rotund, I was afterwards led happily to the brand new Counter Culture Coffee Training Center here in sunny, summery Somerville.

Counter Culture Coffee’s Boston Training Center

The new Boston CCC training center – which just opened yesterday – is divided into two large rooms. The first room looks and feels like a working cafe, which is a bit of a startle, because all the other CCC training centers feel like, well, different variations on the concept of a “training center.” The other room has two large poured concrete tables and a full kitchen.

Here’s what’s on our fun-times agenda for what should be a wild evening here in Boston:

Four delicious wines, curated by Katie Carguilo.
  • Coffee Buyer Tim Hill will cup!
  • US Barista Champion Katie Carguilo will speak!
  • Ethiopian coffees will be slurped!
  • Four delicious wines will be sipped! Ooh!

Counter Culture Coffee and La Marzocco begins their East Coast roadshow tonight at 7PM in Somerville at 374 Somerville Ave. Come say hi! Have a glass of wine! Enter a raffle to win your very own custom Fermentation & Fruit Bombs edition La Marzocco GS-3! Glegh!
