A month ago we announced our new Feel Good Drinks Of Fall series, where we celebrate the latest and greatest in cozy coffee drinks. The series was inspired in part by this out of control S’mores Gibraltar from Onyx Coffee Lab, which the internet (our staff included) just could not get enough of. Submissions have been rolling in since then, and with the weather officially turning from “ehh kinda drizzly” to “dang where did I put that sweater because just a jacket ain’t cutting it” here in much of the United States, we think it is time to get this series underway in earnest.

Our first submission came from the folks at Toby’s Estate Brooklyn, who wanted to share their Apple Betty, an apple and spice-infused almond milk cappuccino inspired by that coziest of apple-based desserts, the Brown Betty.

We’re calling it the Apple Betty. The concept is based off of the delicious Brown Betty dessert commonly referred to as apple crisp. This 6 oz. drink gets 1 oz. of house-made Apple Betty syrup, a double shot of our Bedford Blend, and is finished with textured Califia Farms Almond Milk to help mimic those yummy toasted oat and nut flavors in a Brown Betty dessert.

Sounds delicious. What goes in this “Apple Betty Syrup”?

The syrup includes:
Gala Apples
Apple Juice
Whole Black Peppercorns
Cinnamon
Cardamom
Ginger
Nutmeg
Thyme
Rosemary
Apple Cider Vinegar
Sugar
Water

How much does that all cost?

$4.50 We’ll be making the Apple Betty for the rest of the fall season. Our guests seem to be liking this slightly sweetened option, thus its continuation.

Anything else fun about the drink?

Currently, we are paring the Apple Betty with a Pumpkin Spice Doughnut. The Apple Betty and the Pumpkin Doughnut can be purchased as a combo for $8.00.

Thanks!

You can get an Apple Betty for yourself at Toby’s Estate in Brooklyn at 125 N 6th St, or in Manhattan at 160 5th Ave.
