Are you reading Sprudge.com in China right now? If so, perhaps you’ll be heading tomorrow to the 1st annual Fushan Cup International Barista Championship, happening June 22nd and 23rd at the Fushan Coffee Culture & Romance Town in Chengmai County, Hainan.

The event itself occurs in collaboration with the 10th annual Hainan Yingbin Dragon Water Festival, and is being held in accordance with WBC / USBC competition standards. Let’s learn more from the blog What’s On Sanya:

The competition will attract 25 gold medalists from 12 countries and regions in the world including competitors from Columbia, Brazil, Vietnam, America, Italy, New Zealand, South Korea, Japan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Puerto Rico, and Chinaโ€™s Beijing, Shanghai, Hainan, Yunnan, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

During the 2-day competition, every competitor will make 3 styles of coffee on the site including Espresso, Cappuccino, and their creative coffee with designated semi-automatic coffee maker, coffee grinder, and raw materials.

As the highest level barista competition in China, the Fushan Cup will draw public attention to the delicious Fushan coffee and promote Chinaโ€™s coffee culture.
