After 20 years as the owners / operators of Espresso Parts, today an announcement was made public that Terry and Kelly Ziniewicz have sold their family business to Olympia-based investors, headed by of Espresso Part’s acting GM, Melissa Myer.

Excerpt comes from this blog post, on the informal family blog “Z Acres”:

From the humble beginnings of a small drive thru espresso bar in Western Washington, we went on to own several retail locations, and create an industry supplier, Espresso Cart Parts Northwest. We built espresso carts, imported espresso machines, and created a line of small wares, now found in cafes around the world.

We have had the great opportunity to work and create friendships with thousands of people around the world.

The result is the company you now know as Espressoparts and Espressoparts.com. We have built a team of talented individuals who seriously love what they do. We are honored to have had the opportunity to work with them in the growth of Espressoparts. We certainly could not have done it with out them.

And so, after 20 years as the owners of Espressoparts, we are pleased to announce the sale of Espressoparts to Melissa and Matt Myer, of Olympia, WA.

Melissa has been the acting General Manager and has been involved with taking Espressoparts into itโ€™s next growth stage. We are excited to have found people who are just as passionate as we are to carry on our work, and look forward to watching the continued growth

We are excited for the future, and are amazed and humbled by our accomplishments. We will be working in the industry on a consulting level via our business, Caffewerks LLC. and will continue to promote Espressoparts in a support role.

Sprudge.com is just one of the countless projects, events, seminars and competitions sponsored by Espresso Parts and the Ziniewicz family over the last 20 years, including all of this year’s USBC regional events and the national event in Portland. Terry and Kelly were our very first advertisers. They took a chance on us more than two years ago, back when this website was nothing more than puns and hyperlinks. Espresso Part’s support of Sprudge was never just limited to advertising; Terry and Kelly personally stepped up with sponsorship to help us attend our first-ever USBC event (2010 Anaheim), back when our event coverage was mostly just this, and they’ve always been so lovely and kind to us whenever our paths have crossed at some event or another.

It might sound melodramatic, but seriously, this website wouldn’t exist today if it weren’t for Terry and Kelly. Their support gave us the inspiration and self-belief needed to keep churning out Mark Prince headlines.

But let’s not eulogize; we can’t wait to see what’s next from Caffewerks, and you can be sure you’ll be able to read all about it, right here on Sprudge. Thanks again, guys.
