If you’re opening up a cafe inside a maker space, then you might better utilize all the artisans and craftspeople taking up residence there. That’s what Stauf’s Coffee Roasters in Columbus, Ohio has done. For their fourth location, Stauf’s is putting a coffee shop inside Columbus Idea Foundry, a 60,000-square-foot space filled with rentable tool shops, assembly spaces, and co-working areas. Basically, it’s a big giant building inhabited by independent creative-types, the ones that are typically thought to live on coffee. And Stauf’s tasked them with helping build their bar.

Of course, Stauf’s is happy to be providing coffee to their newfound and very handy captivated audience. Dishing out their small-batch roasted coffee via a two-group Slayer for espresso and Marco SP9 for pour-over, Stauf’s is fueling one of Columbus’ coolest incubator spaces. It’s not very often you can see a super sleek espresso machine in the same building as welding equipment, but there aren’t a lot of places like the Columbus Idea Foundry, home of the newest Stauf’s Coffee Roasters.
